I saw a video the other day that scared me…
In the video, a guy used a walnut to show what a normal prostate looks like. He then used an orange to show what an enlarged prostate can look like.
I’m sure you can picture the difference in size between the two.
And it got me wondering...
Just how big can a prostate get?
And what is it like to live with an enlarged prostate?
So I did some research.
This is what I discovered...
First, statistics show that roughly 10% of men in their 40s have an enlarged prostate. That number jumps to 50% in the 50’s. And, shockingly, by the 80’s its roughly 90%.
So, looking at the stats, its less a question of “if” for most guys and more of a question of “when”.
That’s the bad news...
But don’t worry, because there is good news, too.
There is something easy you can do now to help avoid an enlarged prostate AND get some relief if you’re currently suffering from the effects of BPH and prostate issues. Unfortunately, most men have not heard of this solution, so we’ll cover that here in a minute.
Though first, you should know the existence and severity of prostate-related symptoms is NOT directly related to the size of your prostate. This means even though you may not have an overly enlarged prostate, you could still have symptoms.
According to a case report from a medical journal published in 2014, an 89-year-old man came in with a long list of symptoms that led the doctors to believe they needed to remove his prostate. According to the narrative, this was the 4th largest prostate ever.
It weighed over 740 grams (~1.63 lbs.) and measured 14 cm x 13 cm x 9 cm, which is just crazy!
For reference, a normal prostate is 7 - 16 grams, and measures 3 cm x 3 cm x 5 cm
I mean, I’m no interior decorator… but I'm not sure there’s room for a prostate that large in the body!
Here’s how this could be a problem:
The urethra is like a hose attached to your bladder. It goes through the prostate and out of your penis. So when the prostate swells, it can put pressure on the bladder and squeeze the urethra.
A normal bladder holds about 16 ounces.
The pressure makes it feel like you have to go for a pee, even if the bladder isn’t full. This is often what wakes men up at night. To make matters worse, pinching the urethra is kind of like kinking a hose. In other words, it can be hard for the urine to get out.
This can make a big difference. Think of a grapefruit versus a walnut.
If you’re like me you probably ask yourself the question, “how does that happen and how do I avoid it?”
Unfortunately, doctors and scientists don’t have a concrete answer on how it happens. But they believe it might be due to changes in the balance of sex hormones as men grow older.
Scientists believe the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) may encourage the cells of the prostate gland to continue to grow.
Here’s how it works...
Testosterone converts to DHT through the enzyme 5-α-reductase.
Therefore, if you can block the 5-α-reductase enzyme, you can limit DHT and improve prostate health.
Ok, that’s a lot of info... if you’re still with me I'm impressed!
Let’s now answer the most important question –
If you want to get in front of prostate symptoms or get relief from existing prostate symptoms, what can you do?
There are a couple of things.
1) You can have more sex (What a chore, huh?!)
Yep, the prostate gland is a male reproductive organ. Its main function is to secrete prostate fluid, which is one of the components of semen. The muscles of the prostate gland also help propel this seminal fluid into the urethra during ejaculation.
Scientists found that men who ejaculated 21 or more times a month enjoyed a 33% lower risk of prostate cancer compared with men who reported four to seven ejaculations a month throughout their lifetimes.
2) Take a legitimate 5-α-reductase inhibitor
Perhaps the best 5-AR inhibitor we’ve found is extremely popular in Europe. It’s widely prescribed by Urologists there for prostate health/symptom relief.
It's called Serenoa Repens, which is the fancy name for Saw Palmetto (SP). Most guys have heard of SP. They may have even tried it.
But this SP is very different from most that are available in the US for 3 reasons...
REASON #1: A meta-analysis shows that it is effective for treating LUTS - Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms such as:
Poor and/or intermittent stream
The feeling of incomplete bladder emptying
In fact, it performed as well as one of the popular prescription options. Except in this case, men didn’t experience the negative effects on bedroom performance!
REASON #2) A lot of the SP on the market is actually counterfeit or adulterated.
We tested over 70 popular SP products and 50% came back having bad SP. What we’ve found is that companies will add Palm oil and/or buy their SP from China and India. This is interesting because it can’t even be successfully grown there…
REASON #3) Even if they are using legit SP oil, most companies do not possess the technology to extract the nutrients and micronutrients needed to get men the best results.
As I mentioned, genuine SP oil with precise amounts of micronutrients that help with BPH is prescribed by urologists in Europe...
(Fun Fact: they actually get the SP berries for their extract from the south-eastern US, the ONLY place on the planet the SP plant grows)
That’s great for European men, but last I checked Permixon (the prescription SP) isn’t available in the US…
Or is it??
We connected with some of the top doctors, biochemists, and botanical extraction experts in the US.
These guys have figured out how to produce a SP that is nearly identical in composition and micronutrients to what’s used in Europe, without using the harsh chemicals they use there.
Naturally, we said, “Hey, men in the US need this too!”
And so we’ve partnered with them to create and launch our product, Prostadyne.
Here’s the scoop:
Prostadyne uses the clinical dose of this exact ingredient, which is a known 5-AR inhibiting powerhouse. We also put in Lycopene, cranberol, and pumpkin seed extract to make what we believe to be the best Prostate relief product on the market today.
The feedback we’re getting from men is fantastic.
I take it myself…
My dad takes it…
And my close friends take it.
So if you are interested in finally getting relief or you just see the value in protecting your prostate health for the long-haul, check out Prostadyne here.
